Pippa Goodhart

After years of bookselling and working as a publisher’s ‘reader’, Pippa Goodhart began her writing career in 1994 with a children’s novel, Flow, written for the Kathleen Fidler competition. Since then she has had over fifty books published, including board books, picture books, early reading books, short stories and novels. She has had titles shortlisted for Young Telegraph Book of the Year, the Smarties Prize, the Blue Peter Book of the Year, and the Stockton Children’s Book Award. Perhaps her best known book is You Choose, illustrated by Nick Sharratt, which is given to hundreds of thousands of three year olds as part of the Bookstart scheme. Pippa mixes writing picture books and novels with writing reader books for schools, and ghost writing Winnie the Witch stories. Pippa also teaches writing skills at university and at school level. Elizabeth Kay

Best-selling children’s author Elizabeth Kay has turned her hand to writing mainstream adult fiction. She is best known for the Divide trilogy, a children’s fantasy series, published by The Chicken House. Caroline Dunford

Caroline Dunford lives in Scotland with her partner and two young sons. When she isn’t attending to the whims of the men in her life she writes short stories, plays, novels, non-fiction and the occasional article. As all authors are required to have as much life experience as possible she has, at various times, been a drama-coach, an archery instructor, a counsellor, a qualified psychotherapist, a charity worker, a journalist, a voice actor, a hypnotherapist and a playwright. While accepting life will always throw many and varied challenges at us all she believes a sense of humour remains the most effective shield against the trials and tribulations of life.

Stephanie Baudet

Stephanie Baudet was born in Cheshire and brought up in Australia and New Zealand. She returned to England in 1967 and now lives in Buckinghamshire.

She is the author of about thirty children’s books and teachers’ resources. Stephanie loves to visit schools. She presents a flexible mix of reading and writing workshops and interactive games to help children explore different aspects of story construction. David Webb

David Webb was born and brought up in Anfield, Liverpool. Married with two children, he now lives in Bury where, before he became a full-time writer about ten years ago, he worked as a primary school Headteacher. David is an established author of both children’s fiction and resources for teachers, with over thirty titles to his name. His historical novels, including Beneath the Bombers’ Moon and Eye of the Storm, have won critical acclaim.
